Capital punishments

Undercover police officer Elliot (Sope Dirisu) has been on quite the journey since he first infiltrated London crime dynasty the Wallaces in the first season of Sky drama Gangs of London.

After rising through the ranks to become an assassin, he was last seen stringing up Sean Wallace (Joe Cole), who'd inherited the family's lucrative criminal enterprise, in a junkyard, promising to take over everything he'd built.

RIDING HIGH

'At the end of Season 2, Elliot told Sean: “Watch, I’m going to become you, I’m going to do it better than you ever did,”' says Dirisu. 'And at the beginning of Season 3, he's living up to his promise.'

It's quite a turnaround for the man who started out on a mission to take down the capital's warring gangs, led by the likes of Albanian gangster Luan (Orli Shuka), Pakistani heroin kingpin Asif (Asif Raza Mir) and Kurdish militant Lale (Narges Rashidi), from the inside.
