Le Meurice is one of Paris' most illustrious hotels, opened in 1835 by Charles-Augustin Meurice to appeal to Brits holidaying in Paris. Tiled flooring with the hotel's greyhound dog emblem signposts the entrance, and revolving doors transport guests from the crowded road to a tranquil space with a warming scent.
