AN AFGHAN man who rammed his car into a crowd, injuring 36 people, was motivated by Islamic extremism, German officials said.
The attacker, heard shouting "Allahu akbar" (Arabic for God is greatest) after the Munich horror, had earlier told relatives: "Tomorrow I won't be here any more."
German police, who do not routinely fully identify suspects, named him as Farhas N.
A two-year-old was among those injured when the 1000-strong trade union protest on Thursday was targeted. The child remains critically ill.
