Her journey began in 1982, at a time when entrepreneurship was a word mostly associated with men. Women were expected to manage homes, not businesses. Yet, she saw something others didn't-the untapped potential of women as economic powerhouses. She conducted India's first-ever Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) exclusively for women, challenging deep-rooted pigeonholes. What followed was not just a training session but the spark of a movement.
Determined to scale this impact, she founded the International Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (ICECD) in 1986. From remote villages to bustling cities, from widows rebuilding their lives to differently-abled individuals striving for independence-her vision reached every corner of the country. Over the decades, ICECD has transformed millions of people, especially women, into successful entrepreneurs, setting the stage for a revolution in women's economic empowerment.
