I have never been prouder to be married to a Bengali. Through my marriage, I found my connection to Kolkata. A place that gave the world Rabindranath Tagore’s words and music, Satyajit Ray’s films and now Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s universe of Indianness.
There’s no doubt that the 25th anniversary showcase in Mumbai was a celebration of our collective creative heritage. You’ve seen the reels, read the commendations as well as the critiques. But for me, it was something else. It was the song that opened the show — Rabindranath Tagore’s Kharobaayu boy bege. A melody I've heard my husband hum countless times in our home.
