At over 240 feet long, the A350 is nearly the length of a football field and is configured with 331 seats. The state-of-the-art aircraft is one of the most fuel-efficient aircraft operating in the world today and is built from advanced materials.
A combination of carbon composites, titanium and modern aluminium alloys delivers environmental benefits such as lower fuel burn and reduced CO2 emissions; nitrogen oxide emissions are nearly a third below the current industry standard and noise levels are also much lower. The Trent XWB engines used on the A350 aircraft have the lowest specific fuel consumption for any turbofan aircraft in service today, contributing to lowering CO2 emissions and is a huge leap forward for greener air travel. It was also the first aircraft type to premiere the Club World cabin - Club Suite. This aircraft type is fitted with three classes accommodated across five cabins.
I reached Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai at 11.30 pm. My flight A138 was scheduled to depart at 02.10 am from Mumbai to London Heathrow but departed at 0242 am due to slight fog. There was a separate check-in counter for business class which was manned by a very efficient staff who were quick in issuing boarding passes. The whole process was seamless and quick.
