DESPITE the best-laid plans going awry, Darren Hicks and Sir Robinson kept their cool to head the prix st georges (PSG) gold.
“I didn’t find out until Saturday morning that Sunday’s classes had been moved a day earlier,” said Darren, who admitted he was “the only competitor not to read the email” sent out with approaching bad weather. “Someone said, ‘I’ll plait, you pack,’ and we were on the road by 10.30am.”
Arriving with just 20 minutes to warm up, the pair found the necessary focus to win with 74.07%.
