No because, like Bruce Banner, they had to be rattled before they showed what they can do.
They were anaemic in the first half and could not hurt Southampton before the league’s bottom club capitalised on a rare mistake by Virgil van Dijk and Alisson to take a shock lead.
That fired up Liverpool and they blew Southampton away at the start of the second half, Arne Slot will be pleased by their second-half display, with Paris Saint-Germain next up on Tuesday, and they have equalled Sunderland's 1935 record of scoring at least twice in 19 successive home games.
